What happens if I have the highest bid?
If you have placed the highest bid in the auction, this is presented to the selling party, usually the mortgage holder. They decide whether the bid is accepted, refused or whether further conditions are set. The selling party has a right of consideration, which usually lasts five working days. During this period, due diligence may be carried out on the bidder.
If the bid is accepted, this is called “awarding”. Only once the selling party agrees and the notary confirms this does the purchase become final. Until that moment, you do not have a definitive right to the purchase.
After awarding, the transfer is scheduled and the funds must be deposited with the notary handling the transfer on time.
